Dear People of the Archdiocese,
We publicly released our Vision on Catholic schools today (Tuesday, August 14th). This Vision is the culmination of two years of deep research, data gathering, and consultation with thousands of stakeholders throughout southwestern Ohio. The full Vision is quite dense, but I encourage you to read the Vision Report as well as the shorter Executive Summary by visiting our website.
Overall, I am gratified by the results of our Vision. The people of the Archdiocese have identified our Catholic schools as a priority for the future. This sentiment has been echoed by Archbishop Schnurr, who has publicly pronounced his commitment to Catholic school education. Through our Vision, we know that Catholic schools are a stake in the ground. They are essential to the evangelizing mission of our local Church. We have emerged from our Vision as an Archdiocese committed to providing vibrant, high quality, authentically Catholic schools that are available and affordable to all who wish to come.
The Vision is now put together, and the future is bright. Our Vision promotes an agenda of growth and expansion, and foresees a future where our schools are at the heart of how we live out Christ’s call to education.
I cannot adequately convey my thanks to the people of the Archdiocese for your passion and faith in our schools. Our Vision is a representation of your love of Catholic education. I look forward to working with you as we achieve a vibrant future for Catholic schools throughout the Archdiocese.
Yours in Christ,
Jim Rigg, Ph.D.
Director of Educational Services
Superintendent of Catholic Schools
