Catholic Schools… Providing Dividends for Life
Catholic Schools Week, an annual celebration of the important role that Catholic elementary and secondary schools play in the lives of students, is just around the corner. During this special week, students, parents, grandparents, friends and supporters all will have an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the value of Catholic schools.
This year Catholic Schools Week will be celebrated January 31 – February 6. This special week was officially started in 1974 as a joint project of the National Catholic Educational Association and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Dividends for Life.”
According to Karen Ristau, National Catholic Education Association president, “Catholic schools provide good things for students and families – high expectations and daily experience of faith. In these challenging times,” she says, “the theme also reminds parents that the dividends of a Catholic school education – students prepared in faith, knowledge, morals and discipline – last a lifetime. There is no better way to invest in a child’s future – or the future of our world.”
Catholic schools strive to develop a unique bond among students, their home, school and the Church – an investment that will pay lifelong dividends. This community works together to develop students into local, regional and national leaders who are grounded in their Christian faith and have strong moral values. You can see firsthand some of the outstanding alumni who have graduated from our schools (link to distinguished alumni).
So be sure to join us in celebrating Catholic Schools Week. It’s a week to recognize the importance of Catholic schools in the lives of children and to celebrate how Catholic schools are helping them reap “Dividends for Life.”
