All Saints School

We put a good deal of thought into where our children attended grade school. We explored all of our options: public, private, Catholic and other Christian schools. All Saints was our last school visit. We had pretty much made up our minds to go elsewhere and were just checking the box by making this final visit on the list. That’s when the Holy Spirit stepped in and took the reins! We were given a tour by the Assistant Principal. As we toured the school, she warmly greeted each student by name. We also had the opportunity to meet the Principal. She clearly articulated her vision for the school. A strong, academic environment that is rich in spirituality. As we were rounding the second grade corner, we heard a teacher ask, “Jimmy, what does it mean to be a friend?” There was a pause, and then the student answered. We were impressed! This type of environment does not manifest itself overnight. It is the result of years of hard work, attention to detail, and the caring spirit of its faculty. The faculty set All Saints apart. You will not find a higher quality, more cohesive group of caring professionals anywhere. The All Saints faculty see their teaching positions here as their vocations. We have been blessed to be part of All Saints School.

Annunciation School

Annunciation School is a great place for parents to work with students and other parents that become life-long friends!

Ascension School

As the parent of three graduates of Ascension school, I would like to share the reasons why I believe that a Catholic education from Ascension was instrumental in allowing my children to succeed in their educational goals. Each of my three daughters started first grade at Ascension -- graduating in 1996, 1999, and 2001. Ascension provided each of them with an excellent foundation in all of the core curriculum courses – math, science, history, English and religion. The education provided by Ascension allowed them to attend Carroll High School with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in honors and advanced placement courses. Building upon the wonderful education they received at Ascension, all three of my daughters were able to graduate in the top 5% of their class at Carroll. In addition, one was selected to be the valedictorian and another to be the salutatorian in their respective graduation classes. The science, math, and writing opportunities provided at Ascension also allowed my daughters to explore different areas of math, science and literature. This experience helped and encouraged them in selecting a career path. One daughter is now a lawyer; another is a speech pathologist; and my youngest will soon graduate in electrical engineering. Each graduated or will graduate shortly with high honors in their chosen field. Much of the credit for their academic success can be traced back to the outstanding educational foundation provided by Ascension school. However, more important than the educational opportunities provided by Ascension, was the positive religious influence that the school exerted on my children. It strengthened my children’s faith by providing them with spiritual and community service experiences that encouraged my children to continue to seek opportunities to give to others. All three have and continue to volunteer in areas designed to serve the community. Ascension also left my children with many wonderful memories. My children still enjoy reminiscing with their friends about the wonderful times they had at Ascension. They constantly refer to the caring Ascension teachers, who invested their time in seeing that every child had the opportunity to succeed. As a result, I feel that the tuition for their education at Ascension was an excellent investment in my children’s future. My investment has paid off by helping my daughters become caring, well-educated Christian women. I would encourage everyone to consider a Catholic education for his or her child, and I believe that Ascension provides one of the best grammar school educations in the Dayton area.

Cardinal Pacelli School

Since day one, Cardinal Pacelli School has reflected a deeply Christian attitude toward all those who study at, work for, and support the school. The Catholic underpinnings of the academic and religious programs at CPS greatly support the faith and values we have tried to instill in our children at home. Perhaps most importantly, CPS and Our Lord Christ the King provided our family with a true sense of community.

Our children had a great experience at Cardinal Pacelli School. The curriculum and teachers were exactly what we were looking for to prepare our kids as students and young men to excel as they continue their education. As parents, we felt that our kids were surrounded by other students that had the focus on their education and their futures. Both our children participated in athletics at the school and other activities. After reaching sixth grade, parents are no longer coaches of the athletics teams, which is a plus. Another important aspect that Pacelli brings, is the building of the Catholic faith during school and outside of school. Because of the combination of everything mentioned above, our oldest son, Tommy, received three scholarship offers from local private schools. We would definitely recommend Cardinal Pacelli School as a school where students receive a great education at a fair price.

DePaul Cristo Rey High School

“I like the students and the staff members at this school. I like the warm feeling I get when I walk in the doors of the office. I feel that this is the right school for me.”

“I like that we get to work with other people instead of just books and paper. I also like the Tablet PC program.”

“I like the school values, the Corporate Work Study Program and that the school is new so that we can build it from the ground up.”

Immaculate Heart of Mary School

to IHM Principal Mary Hedger:
“I am writing to you today to congratulate you and your teachers for the outstanding honor that you have received from NCEA (the National Catholic Education Association).

The fact that your school was selected as one of only twelve schools in the nation to receive this 2010 Catholic Schools of Tomorrow Award is a true testimony to the quality education that your school continues to provide. Following your Blue Ribbon award from the US Department of Education, this innovative program “The Learning Brain in Action” once again emphasizes your school’s attention to each individual child’s needs.

The nine years of ongoing staff development has resulted in engaged student learners who learn by doing and are challenged at the highest cognitive levels. It is a real tribute to your entire staff.

I am also pleased that your teachers have become teacher leaders presenting their knowledge and successes at local, regional, and national conferences.

As the eighth largest Catholic School system in the United States, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati continues to demonstrate strong leadership across its 115 school and your award clearly exemplifies this…”

”Congratulations on your school being named a No Child Left Behind—Blue Ribbon School!...Your school community must be on cloud nine. We at the Council for American Private Education join you in celebrating your school's success…You, your staff, students, and parents should be proud and pleased that your efforts to deliver the highest quality education are not only successful, but are an example to others…Again, congratulations and best wishes to your entire community….”

“We were torn between IHM and another school for our first grader. When I come to pick him up students nearby will open the door for us, several ‘upperclassmen’ will say goodbye. Students are so nice and mannerly. That, combined with how much he has learned makes me certain IHM was the right choice for us!”

“...the staff of IHM is so dedicated to their jobs, and it shows in their approach to teaching...I have attended IHM for the past eight years, and I have been given the opportunity to transfer to different schools,
but no school, private, public, or Catholic, can offer what IHM offers...”

“I am not willing to compromise a student’s education for my convenience.”

“I like IHM because it is a place full of smiles. We learn about God, and speak our minds. There are great teachers and a beautiful church. Our classrooms are welcoming. We laugh and smile, play and learn. The Bosco sticks, spaghetti, and cheese Coneys are delicious, and the smell of chocolate cake flows through the hallways. Catholic Schools Week is a blast, but above all, IHM contains prayer and happiness. It’s practically our second home.”

“...Just about everyone I know that either works or learns here has an open heart. The people here make me feel safe and wanted. All the teachers are kind and loving...”

“... Our school is such a phenomenal place to be. There is an enthusiasm for learning that is contagious and our faculty and staff are knowledgeable and excited about their roles in your children's lives. When I walk the halls and visit in classrooms, I see smiles and eager faces.”

John Paul II Catholic School

JP II Catholic School provides an excellent well rounded education. I like it that "extra" subjects that other schools cut, such as high quality art and music programs, physical education, and Spanish as a second language are all offered. The communication between the school and parents is wonderful, and on the website you can check and see what your child's homework is, or skills they need to work on for each grade level. I have found the staff to be caring and very invested in wanting to see my child succeed as an individual. Perhaps the most significant endorsement is that my daughter has been excited every day for the last three years to go to school and is upset if she misses a day ! As a parent, that speaks volumes to me.

Lehman High School

I took a few minutes to comment about my dividends for a lifetime from my Catholic education. My Catholic education brought me and my family academics, spirituality and community. My Catholic education began at Sidney Holy Angels, where in 1979, a group of fourth grade students began writing BASIC programs on Radio Shack computers. In that computer lab there was a crucifix that we could silently pray that our little Boolean logic program did not create a loop. My education continued at Lehman Catholic High School where I was introduced to PASCAL in 1987. Praying “Mary Queen of Victory, pray for us. Please, let this program run.” Along the way, my parent’s efforts of educating their children were supported by a community of friends, teachers and religious. My husband and I joined that same Catholic education community at Ascension School. In closing, I am not a software engineer. But, I still say “Mary Queen of Victory pray for us” when I see my son parachuting off the top step. We are a family with great kids, getting a great education supported by a great community. Thanks Catholic Schools!

Our Lady of Grace Catholic School

Our Lady of Grace Catholic School strives for academic excellence and strong character development. One of our favorite things at OLG is the chapel talks which feature eighth grade students leading younger students through some rough topics, like dealing with change, bullying, healthy eating and responsibility. These talks give students the opportunity to develop their spirit as well as their minds. Another strength of the school is its dedication to the arts. The drama department is outstanding. The choral group, ”Soarin” performs in the local community. Student art projects dazzle visitors. We are pleased with the well-rounded education our daughter is receiving at OLG. In her two years at OLG, she has played basketball, volleyball, and softball, participated in the Bible Bowl, the Academic team, a speech competition, choral competitions, been a cast member of four drama club productions and is a drama club officer. Most important are the friendships that she has developed and that she wakes up excited to go to school every morning. We feel strongly that OLG is the right place for our daughter.

Our Lady of Victory School

Our Lady of Victory School has always had a very welcoming atmosphere. As you enter into the building the school is bright and warm. The office staff greets you and often a child will hold a door for you. The teaching staff will stop and say hello and you feel as if you are entering a place where children are cherished and valued. That is important to us as parents who want to know that our child is in a nurturing, safe environment. Our child is growing spiritually, emotionally, academically and socially in this wonderful environment. We feel confident that the staff at our school is committed to providing the education that we desire for her.

Purcell Marian High School

The Purcell Marian Scholars program has helped me realize the values and importance of my high school career. My time here, I now see, can greatly impact my future and the Scholars Program has helped me maximize what I get out of that time.

Roger Bacon High School

As alumni of RB and OLA we had a wounderful time at these schools and hoped to let our children have the same experience we had and so far so good. We have had both a girl and boy go though the halls of RB and they have both found a place that they love. They had great teachers and faculty. It showed when they applied for collage and what they got into and scholarships they got or will get. RB is not a huge school and that is one thing we love. In this school you stand a chance at making the team, being on the student senate or being in a play. You are not just a body or a number; you are known in the school. In this school there is also one thing that is taught that these children will carry with them for life: care, love and to be kind to your fellow men and women. You can tell this by all the service hours these kids have by the end of every year. We still have one more to get through high school and he cannot wait to walk the halls of Roger Bacon.

Seton High School

My name is Jaclyn Hyde and I’m a senior at Seton. I am the youngest of four and my two sisters attended Seton before me. For as long as I can remember, I knew that I would follow in my sisters’ footsteps and attend Seton as well. I knew Seton was a great school and I expected to have a good high school experience, but what I didn’t expect is how much Seton would change my life. Throughout the three and a fourth years I have been here, Seton has helped me grow faithfully, challenged me academically, and transformed me into the leader I am today. This amazing school gives every student a chance to get involved with the countless teams and clubs. I have taken advantage of a great deal of these involvement opportunities. I’ve been on the tennis, cross country, track and field, and basketball teams. I am the president of Drama Club, a member of vocal ensemble and the show choir, I have been in four drama productions at Seton and have starred in the past two musicals. I have been a devoted member of campus ministry, Latin Club and National Honor Society. I have also been involved in Student Council and am currently the Executive Board Vice President. Being a member of all these activities, it sometimes feels as if I spend more time at Seton than I do at my own home. But you know what? I wouldn’t have it any other way. Seton helps its student find their talents and interests and encourages every student to grow into the best person she can be. Along with all the clubs and activities, Seton students are invited to attend multiple days of reflection and retreats, including Kairos. It is through such retreats that students discover their relationship with God, with others, and with themselves. Kairos for me was a life-changing experience as it gave me an entirely new outlook on my faith and the world around me. Speaking of which, Seton staff members and students give selflessly of themselves to others inside and also out of the Seton community. Every summer, the campus ministry organizes several mission trips around the nation and even the world, such as New Orleans, Guatemala and Appalachia. I went on my first mission trip this past summer where I learned that it is actually pronounced AppalaCHA. But just like my experience on Kairos, this service opportunity taught me so much about myself and about others. I learned how big of a difference a little roof building or porch painting can have on a person in need. It is through opportunities like these that Seton has helped me to grow in my faith and in my relationship with God. But despite all the great opportunities that Seton offers outside of school, we cannot forget about academics. The teachers here are not only qualified to educate, but they are truly concerned about each and every one of their students and they want the best for her. If you walk into any Seton classroom, it will be obvious to you that the students have a genuine desire to learn and to succeed. At the risk of sounding like a nerd, Seton has honestly made me love school. The enthusiastic teachers have always been there for me, as well as for all students, and have greatly contributed to my love of learning. Seton has prepared me 100% for my future and I know that, with what I have learned here, I can go out into the world and be successful, as well as accomplish all of my goals. I have been affected by Seton in almost every aspect of my life. Being apart of this amazing Seton community, I have grown as a leader, a student, a Christian, and as a person.

St. Aloysius Gonzaga School

When deciding where to send our oldest daughter to kindergarten, I was a stay-at-home mom and Catholic schools would have meant a huge financial sacrifice. We chose the highly-rated public school and it was great; however, I felt early on that something was missing. It was the sense of community and more importantly, God. So I began visiting Catholic schools and was excited the day I came to St. Al’s because I knew I had found the right school for our daughters. St. Al’s is a very welcoming and generous parish with a strong sense of community. Choosing St. Al’s was a great decision for our girls and for our family!

St. Anthony School

I know the value of a Catholic School Education especially in urban areas. I attended a Catholic grade school from Kindergarten through 8th grade and then attended the local public High School. I never had to bring a book home from school to study. The good study habits instilled during grade school allowed me to finish all of my studies and homework during school hours and graduate as class Valedictorian. I see the dramatic difference in the quality of education today with my own children. They attend the same grade school I did and the difference among their neighborhood peers is noticeable, not just in education, but also in their behavior. My children would not have near the chance of success in life without a Catholic School education just as I wouldn't have either.

St. Cecilia School

Making the decision about your child’s education will be one of the most important decisions you will have to make for your child. It will take time and consideration to examine all aspects of the intended school. We chose St. Cecilia after many months of consideration for our daughter Alexis. She started in Kindergarten and is now in the 3rd grade. She has excelled in many aspects of her life thanks to the education and dedicated teachers that St. Cecilia provides. I feel St. Cecilia has many academic and social activities to get the children involved, as well as extra support and guidance when needed. The small class size gives each child the learning experience of one-on-one teaching. It allows the teachers a chance to get to know each child’s abilities and guide them as needed. St. Cecilia is a school of many gifts. It has not only become my daughter’s school but our extended family. I can honestly say if you are looking for a strong academic school with a well-rounded education, St. Cecilia is the school of choice. Our family is not Catholic, but we wanted Alexis to get not only a great education but a well-built foundation of faith in Christ. St. Cecilia has a great foundation of faith and service that I feel has only gotten stronger over the last four years. It allows for the growth of well-rounded individuals. As we are now enrolling our daughter Ava into kindergarten, I have no worries or concerns about her education. I have had nothing but good experiences with St. Cecilia and I have and will continue to highly recommend it.

St. Charles Borromeo School

This year has been filled with "pinch me" moments! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE ST. CHARLES!!!!  THANK YOU ALL, We have met SO many wonderful kids, teachers, families! God does answer a mother's prayers....I love you all!

St. Gertrude School

St. Gertrude is more than a school with a proud 75- year history; it's a living community of students, parents and teachers who each day strive to learn, support and encourage each student to be the best that he or she can be. Dedicated teachers work together in teams to provide a top notch education while meeting each student's unique needs. As a parishioner for many years and the mother of two St. Gertrude graduates, I can attest to the quality of the spiritual and academic formation of our students.

St. Ignatius Loyola School

Another great year!!! The teachers and tutors were great! They worked very well together and kept us informed. My son benefitted greatly from all their hard work and understanding. We have a very loving and accepting staff here at St. Ignatius...We thank everyone's efforts. Our children are so blessed to be part of a school community where their differences are not judged but embraced!! Thank you for this awesome gift!

St. John the Baptist School

When our family first toured St. John the Baptist in anticipation of sending our daughter to kindergarten, we were immediately impressed how welcoming and friendly everyone was. Our first impressions were 100 % accurate. After she started kindergarten, we could tell immediately that our daughter was receiving a top notch education from caring, dedicated professionals. Also, we couldn't be more pleased with the strong emphasis on the Catholic faith and the nature of living our Christian beliefs. As she has moved up (now in 3rd grade), we continue to feel the same way. Now we have another daughter in kindergarten and we continue to be excited about the school and how it is positively impacting their lives. As our daughters have become immersed in their education, my wife and I have become involved with the school as well. It's refreshing to have met so many other parents who share our passion for quality, Christ centered education. We proudly tell everyone that our daughters go to St. John the Baptist and we're thrilled with our decision to send them there.

St. Louis School

I have only favorable comments regarding the education of my daughters at St. Louis. My name is Laura Hayes and my husband and I have two daughters, Sarah (15) and Emily (18), who both attended St. Louis School from 1st grade through 8th grade. We could not have asked for a better environment or better role models for our girls. An education can be obtained at any school but at St. Louis, they taught our girls to be responsible, caring, confident, compassionate people. I have no doubt that they will grow up to be successful young people who have a good heart and for that I credit the faculty at St. Louis. My oldest daughter just entered college this fall. She is attending Bowling Green State University and is majoring in Hospitality Management Administration. Prior to that, she had an immensely successful high school career at McNicholas High School. She was on the swim team for two years, National Honor Society two years, Kairos leader, Mardi Gras Court, and performed in numerous theatrical events as well as participated in the International Club, Thespian Troop and the Spring Musical. She is also ranked 2nd in her class academically. During the summer months, she volunteered numerous times at the Williamsburg Library and a no-kill shelter for animals in Amelia. I can’t emphasize enough how grateful I am that we had the opportunity to send our girls through parochial school, especially St. Louis. They truly do care about the kids that attend there and take their role as educators very seriously. After a short while, you realize you’re not just a student or parent, you’re part of the “St. Louis Family” for that is how you’re treated! For that, I am eternally grateful!

St. Michael School

St. Michael School in Ripley, Ohio, is one of the best kept secrets in Brown County. This school offers many things that a larger school cannot. The main reasons that St. Michael School is here.... To Know Christ: Through formal religious instruction as well as through the integration of the faith dimension into each and every academic subject area and social activity, our school strives to know Christ. To Love Christ: Through participation in the sacramental life of the Church as well as through the constant guidance of the Holy Spirit within our community, our school strives to love Christ. To Bring Others to Christ: Through our witness as well as in answering the call to serve and help those in need within our community and abroad, our school strives to bring others to Christ. This is what I call a ""Well rounded school.

St. Peter School

About 6 years ago our son was attending a local school and a friend asked us why we didn't have him enrolled at St. Peter Catholic School because they were a National School of Excellence. Soon after visiting the school we enrolled our son, then in the first grade and our daughter in the preschool. My husband and I often say it was the best move we ever made. Our children, now grades 6 and 3 are receiving an excellent education in a safe and nurturing environment. We know they are learning and growing in their Catholic faith and that is very important to us as well. We feel very blessed to be a part of the St. Peter family.

St. Teresa of Avila School

Thanks to St. Teresa School, our sons have received an excellent education. St. Teresa has prepared them well for the challenges of high school while also instilling in them Catholic beliefs and values, which are very important to us. Our son David received the Charles and Ava Fries Fine Arts Scholarship to Elder High School. He is now in his senior year and has earned first honors for every quarter of his high-school career, and has consistently ranked in the top ten percent of his class. He is a member of National Honor Society and has participated in many community service projects. Our son Jason, an eighth-grader, has been involved in Science Olympics for the past 3 years. He has earned five medals in regional competition and has participated in the state competition as well. He has been accepted into the honors program at Elder and has received the highest level of merit scholarship awarded by the school. He has been a server for the parish for three years as well. St. Teresa offers superior instruction in the arts and technology, leaving students well-prepared to pursue those areas of interest in high school. Both of our sons have been involved with the band program available to all students who are interested. This program prepared them to participate in band at the high-school level. We are very proud of our sons’ achievements. The excellent elementary education they received at St. Teresa has provided a solid foundation for academic success and strong character. The instruction they received in technology and the arts has helped them develop into well-rounded individuals. We feel that St. Teresa was the right choice for our family.
