Elder Campus Minister Wins National Award
Mr. Roger Auer, Director of Campus Ministry at Elder High School, was recently named a recipient of the Catholic Secondary Award from the National Catholic Educational Association. This prestigious award is given each year to high school educators who have made a significant contribution to Catholic secondary education. Mr. Auer is a graduate of Elder where he later returned as a science and religion teacher. After serving as religion department chair for over 20 years, Mr. Auer became the Director of Campus Ministry. Today, he coordinates the retreats and service programs of Elder. Through this work, Mr. Auer oversees programs that serve the poor and needy throughout Cincinnati. Mr. Auer will accept his award this April during the annual NCEA Convention in Boston. Mr. Auer is the second educator honored this year with a national award by NCEA; Mr. Terry Chapman, Principal of Our Lady of Visitation School, was similarly recognized as an outstanding principal by this organization. Congratulations!
