Bishop Leibold School - West Campus
Location
Paul Beyerle
Bishop Leibold School (BLS) serves students Preschool through Grade 8 from the Springboro, Miamisburg, Centerville and West Carrollton areas.
BLS is a U.S Department of Education National Blue Ribbon of Excellence (one of 50 U.S. private schools honored) and a recipient of multiple Ohio Governor’s Awards for Science. But another honor, a Dayton STEM Hub Grant, has truly enabled us to bring our students innovative and engaging classroom programming integrating instruction in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The STEM mission provides students with engaging lessons designed to promote inquiry, critical thinking, and problem solving. Equally important, this initiative seeks to help students see the powerful connections between the four fields of study and how those connections operate in the real-world laboratories, industries, and research institutes in our region and beyond.
In addition to weekly K-8 STEM sessions within the classroom, our school is unique in its offering of extracurricular programs in the STEM disciplines. These offerings include ScienceFEST, our annual free family hands-on science festival; the BLS Summer Science Camp; Bishop Leibold Robotics Camp; QUEST, our after-school Math & Science Enrichment Program and the BLS Eagles Robotics Team.
For 37 years, Bishop Leibold School has operated as the consolidated school of Our Lady of Good Hope and St. Henry Parish. The school is financed and governed by both parishes: each parish pays its own share of the budget based on the number of students registered, and the school is governed by the Bishop Leibold School Board representing both parishes. Together, our parishes provide substantial ongoing support to Bishop Leibold School in maintenance of the physical facilities, in tuition support for parish families, and most importantly, in spiritual resources and guidance.
