Overview:

The primary goal of John XXIII Catholic Elementary School is the total spiritual, intellectual, social and physical education of its students in an atmosphere and spirit of Christian community. Our students are prepared across the academic curriculum to help perfect their talents to the fullest possible extent. A clearly defined discipline code fosters self-discipline and Christian conduct, giving our students the opportunity to live a Christian lifestyle modeled by their teachers. Some of our programs include: accelerated math classes, W.I.N.G.S.(Working to Inspire New and Great Successes) enrichment programs in math, science and language arts, K-8 Spanish classes, concert band, and 7th and 8th graders march with the Fenwick High School band. Students attend weekly mass or prayer services, have prayer partners between grade levels and do ongoing service activities. Nutritionist approved hot lunches are offered. A high school regulation-size gym, football, baseball and soccer fields are all on site. Mad Science after school activities are offered as well as ballroom dancing. There are 3 and 4 year old preschool classes, full and half day kindergarten, before and after school care and busing available from Middletown and surrounding communities. Discover a school that cares as much as you do.

History:

In 1972 it was decided that in order keep Catholic education alive in the Middletown community it would be necessary to create a new Catholic school, John XXIII Consolidated School began in 1973. The consolidated school not only included students from Holy Trinity, St. Mary and St. John Parishes in Middletown but, also St. Mary Catholic Church in Franklin, Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Monroe and Holy Name Catholic Church in Trenton. Members of Middletown’s three parishes along with representatives from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati spent many hours working with each other and the entire Catholic community of Middletown to ensure the success of John XXIII Catholic Elementary School. Now a regional school with deep roots in the Catholic communities of Middletown and the surrounding areas, John XXIII Catholic Elementary School continues to strive for the purpose of integrating Christian values in the lives of the students through the curriculum.
