We are sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas.

All students receive swimming lessons here at our school as part of the physical education program. We are a Catholic Montessori School that focuses on educating the whole child. Mercy provides an individualized educational experience for all of our children.

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to prepare each child to become contributing members of society and ultimately, heaven.

Mercy Montessori is a Catholic School modeled on two fundamental principles: the educational philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, region of Cincinnati and the philosophy of the Montessori Method of Education. As a Mercy Institution, the School strives to instill in each student a love of God and a respect for individual talents. The school, through its student body, reflects a microcosm of society. It accepts and respects each child as an individual, unique in his/her own religious beliefs, race, and cultural heritage as well as intellectual and physical capabilities. This approach to learning is based on the tenet that each child is an individual, developing at his/her own pace. Therefore the environment at Mercy Montessori is designed to enable childen to learn through the senses at an early age and reach abstraction in all levels of development as they mature. This unique program is offered to greater Cincinnati children who come from varied socio-economic backgrounds. In all levels of learning, the children are encouraged to search for truth and beauty, and to discover their part in the Cosmic Plan of the Universe. The religious and moral development of the children is promoted as well as their intellectual growth. Mutual respect for each other's rights, the child's and the adult's, is strongly emphasized. Peaceful means of problem solving are employed. The fundamental goal of Mercy Montessori is to prepare each child to become a contributing member of society and ultimately a citizen of Heaven.
