Testimonial:

When deciding where to send our oldest daughter to kindergarten, I was a stay-at-home mom and Catholic schools would have meant a huge financial sacrifice. We chose the highly-rated public school and it was great; however, I felt early on that something was missing. It was the sense of community and more importantly, God. So I began visiting Catholic schools and was excited the day I came to St. Al’s because I knew I had found the right school for our daughters. St. Al’s is a very welcoming and generous parish with a strong sense of community. Choosing St. Al’s was a great decision for our girls and for our family!

History:

As one of the longest operating Catholic schools on the west side of Cincinnati, St. Al’s has a strong tradition of academic excellence built on a foundation of faith. St. Aloysius Gonzaga Parish was founded in 1866 by a group of German Catholics. The parish grew through the remainder of the 19th century and its expansion intensified at the turn of century. The current school building was built in 1937, and additions were made in the 1940s and 1950s. The latest addition to the school was made in 1996 with the construction of the Monsignor Schmitt Hall gymnasium/multipurpose building. In 2006, the undercroft of the church was renovated into a state-of-the-art library and reading room. Today, parents and students continue to be drawn to St. Al’s small size, strong academic program and warm, welcoming atmosphere. These create a positive learning environment for children and a comfortable sense of community for their families. Children are nurtured to develop to their spiritual, academic and social potential, learning by experience the values of discipline, responsibility, morality, and leadership. The Catholic faith tradition is fostered in every setting. New families are always welcome to join St. Al’s vibrant, faith-filled community.
