Another great year!!! The teachers and tutors were great! They worked very well together and kept us informed. My son benefitted greatly from all their hard work and understanding. We have a very loving and accepting staff here at St. Ignatius...We thank everyone's efforts. Our children are so blessed to be part of a school community where their differences are not judged but embraced!! Thank you for this awesome gift!
James Redden has been selected as this year’s Distinguished Alumni from St. Ignatius. Jim graduated from St. I’s in 2003. He went on to graduate from the University of Notre Dame last year with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. He has made leadership and service a big part of his life since graduating from St. I’s. Jim is currently living in Texas and will be honored at another mass later this school year.

The mission of St. Ignatius School is to educate the whole person by promoting spiritual, moral, physical, and intellectual development. In cooperation with parents, the school challenges the unique abilities of each student in such a manner as to enhance the self-worth and to attain overall excellence. We passionately believe the entire community benefits from the wide diversity of gifts with which our students are blessed. Based on scores from the Terra Nova and InView standardized tests, students at all grades, in all subjects, and subtests, score at or above predicted levels. Additionally, student's average scores increase the longer the student attends St. Ignatius. By the 6th grade, the average scores place St. Ignatius in the top 10% of the Nation. At the same time, approximately 83 of our students are identified as disabled and formal accommodations are made to match the individual learning needs of over 200 students. Whenever possible we follow an "inclusion" approach of instruction. St. Ignatius was the recipient of the 2001 Greater Cincinnati Inclusion Network Leadership Award. And named a Nation Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 2008. We continue to grow as a community in our ability to meet the needs of all learners.
As the key turns to open the door each school day, the commitment is to make St. Ignatius a great place to be a student, a parent, and a teacher. St. Ignatius Loyola School is a fully accredited Catholic elementary school serving students in kindergarten through eighth grade. In 1947 the Sisters of Mercy opened the four-room school for 105 students in Monfort Heights, a suburb on the edge of the city limits of Cincinnati, Ohio. The school has flourished with the community over the years and continues to grow in contrast to the local trends. Today, St. Ignatius is one of the largest Catholic grade schools in the State of Ohio. Along with enrollment, the building and educational opportunities continue to expand.

St. Ignatius School is blessed to have three Nationally Board Certified Teachers on staff. This year, third grade teacher Carolyn McGrath and fourth grade teacher Beth Siemer became Nationally Board Certified. The National Boards is an advanced teaching credential. It is achieved upon successful completion of a voluntary assessment program designed to recognize effective and accomplished teachers. These teachers meet high standards based on what teachers should know and what they should be able to do. Along with Assistant Principal Laura Sieve, who is also Nationally Board Certified, Ms. McGrath and Mrs. Siemer share their expertise with their students and other educators throughout Saint I’s, benefiting the entire school. Less than 3% of teachers nationwide are board certified.
